Asian 1 and Bellingham Pad Thai are the same company. In 2003, Jay (Sorasak Sangkachoti) and I partnered up and opened Bellingham Pad Thai in Costco Cordata Shopping Center on October 31th 2003. We opened our second restaurant in Burlington called Asian 1 on November 20th 2007. Since business is doing well, on March 10th 2010 we opened our third restaurant in Marysville also called Asian 1. We’ve decided that on Pad Thai’s 7th anniversary (10/31/10), we are going to change Bellingham Pad Thai’s name to Asian 1 as well. Now on, all of our restaurants will be called Asian 1.
Our business grew, even during the recession. The reason it keeps growing is because we remain focused on quality of food and service. I told my Management Team that regardless of what happens I would not cut corners on quality of food and service to save money. It turned out great! We have a great percentage of regular customers. They are our foundation of staying in business and growing. From my heart, I would like to thank all of our customers who not only kept us surviving through the tough economic time but also kept us to continue growing. Besides our strong work system, we are fortunate to have good hearted and outstanding Management Team and Staff. They are the backbone of our company. I believe we have the lowest staff turn-over in the restaurant industry. Our staff not only love their job and the company, but also are many of the biggest fans of Asian 1 and Bellingham Pad Thai. Most of them eat our food every time they work, and also come and eat again even when they are off work. They know what kinds of food they are eating. “And you can’t appreciate what you eat until you know what you are eating.”
These days, people are much pickier about what they eat. They are not only picky about the taste but also what they consume. If you eat bad food, you will feel bad later. If you eat good healthy food, then you feel good later. That’s why many choose to come to our restaurants. At all our restaurants, we are proud to purchase non-frozen meats and vegetables, hand cut and prepared daily. We use only Canola Oil for all of our cooking and frying, which contains 0g Trans Fat, 0g Protein, 0mg Sodium, 0g Carbohydrates. We don’t add MSG and all the fat is trimmed from the skinless chicken breasts, pork and beef. We offer a full page Gluten Free food items as well as a full page Splenda menu dedicated for Diabetics. OUR FOOD IS SO HEALTHY, IT’S LIKE COOKING AT HOME! We spend more money on labor, fresh and nutritious ingredients to ensure customer’s health, good taste, overall satisfaction and return visits.
